Trans* Welfare
Trans* is an umbrella term used to refer to people who feel that their gender identity does not match the sex that they were assigned at birth. It applies to people who plan to, are, or have transitioned so that their gender expression matches their gender identity rather than their birth sex. However, the term also applies to those that feel that they belong to neither gender, both genders, a third gender or intersexed individuals.

Things we have been working on at the moment:
- Getting 'pass' cards for the disabled toilets for anyone who is able bodied but does not feel safe or comfortable using gendered toilets. In the long run we hope to start a campaign for gender neutral toilets. However, until then we believe it is important to find a way of allowing people to use a restrooms free from fear and we believe that access to the single stall disabled toilets is the way forward.
- Establishing a relationship with the Wellingborough Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball team - they are one of the few sport teams at the university that are not divided by gender. You do not have to be disabled to play and we hope to make the team more accessible to LGBT students. In the long run we hope to make it easier for Trans* and Gender variant students to join sport teams.
- Creating a database of letter templates and paperwork guides to help individuals transition with the university.
